Hello everybody! I’m Edil and I’m the Developer for TWR, a little strategy game I’ve been working on over the past 8-ish weeks. So far I’ve spent 2 weeks in concept and 6 weeks putting together the best damn prototype I’ve ever made and I’m feeling good about it, you can check out a video of my current build below:
I’ve gotten a lot of work done on this, but I’m still far from done, I sent the game around to receive some feedback and was pleasantly surprised at how well the game has been received, almost everyone wants more of this game, reasons to come back, more content, and the most important thing probably, bugfixes.
I’ve taken all the feedback I’ve gotten and organized it into a document detailing the type of complaint and the amount of times that I received the complaint. The most frequent complaint? More characters/Skills. The second most? Give the player more feedback in game. The third? Fix Dialogue. There were a lot of other things that people talked about, but those are the main takeaways from the first playable.
I have decided to tackle dialogue first by rewriting the system and creating a better system of checks in order to properly have dialogue events occur, not get cut off, and be overall less annoying and loud. This was a feature that I feel needs the most work as it was the least fleshed out, and I’m making some good progress on it. I’m going to be running it through a spreadsheet primarily, this will ensure that I can organize information correctly and import it as well in a proper and good manner.
